BIG SALINAS, ARGENTINA

Big salinas of Córdoba form a dune system in the center of northwestern Argentina whose origin, it is said, is due in a huge sea gap, a tectonic fault which uncovered the seabed from which formed these large ripples salt. The area is also known to experience a steady hurricane, and in times of flooding the surface of the salar is a celestial mirror. The perfect place to try some sunglasses high protection against UV rays. It is reached by highways 9 and 60 after driving about 200 kilometers north from Cordoba. If we add to the Salinas Grandes surface Ambargasta nearby Salinas, and others such as San Bernardo or La Antigua, the result is about 30,000 square kilometers, the largest salt area of the planet. To stay while visiting the nearest towns are possibilities as the City of Dean Funes, Cruz del Eje and tulumba.
